THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS COURIER is an independent, privately owned newspaper which serves the Northern Midlands region of Tasmania. It is published on the third Thursday of each month. Deadline for submissions and advertising is 10 days prior to publication.
It is delivered free to businesses and residents at Campbell Town, Ross, Cressy, Devon Hills, Breadalbane, Evandale, the Nile, Longford and Perth as well as distributed to Epping, Bracknell, Poatina, Avoca and Rossarden and to more than 500 rural subscribers.
The Northern Midlands Courier had its genesis in The Country Courier, based at Longford, started by John Watson more than 20 years ago. Current editor and publisher Alison Andrews took over the newspaper in 2016 from its only other previous editor Chris Keating.

The Northern Midlands Courier editor and publisher Alison Andrews has been a journalist and writer since she started her journalism cadetship at The Examiner Newspaper, Launceston, Tasmania in 1970.
She has worked for a number of media organisations both locally and interstate, is a published author and has run her own media and public relations company.
Alison worked for many years as The Examiner’s chief reporter and chief of staff and in media and communications in federal politics before taking over ownership and operation of The Courier.
